Logo Grates are a new addition to our custom capabilities. We are able to add any custom logo or company name to our slotted, perforated, or perimeter gap grates. Logos are engraved or annealed with a laser or printed in color by our UV printer. Logos will not affect the durability or performance of the grate.

Lugs are stainless steel and welded onto the bottom of grate. There will be a gap between the surface of the grate and the lugs.

Nelson Studs are large nails that are welded to metal and create a bond between the concrete and steel when concrete is poured on a steel structure.

Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) is a North American set of standard sizes for pipes used for high or low pressures and temperatures. Pipe size is specified with two non-dimensional numbers: a nominal pipe size (NPS) for diameter based on inches and a schedule (Sched. or Sch.) for wall thickness.

NSF International develops public health standards and certification programs that help protect the world’s food, water, consumer products and environment. As an independent, accredited organization, NSF develops standards, and tests and certifies products and systems. They provide auditing, education and risk management solutions for public health and the environment. StainlessDrains.com has several NSF certified products that can be found here.

O.D. stands for “outside diameter.”

Outlet is the opening or passage by which the liquid is let out of the drain.

Passivation removes free iron and foreign materials from the surface, leaving the stainless steel clean and more corrosion-resistant.  Passivating stainless steel does not change the aesthetics.

Perimeter Gap Grate is a grate that is solid stainless steel and only allows liquid through the perimeter of the grate.

Perforated Grating is applicable for light-to-medium traffic areas. Perforated grates are available with standard round (3/8” holes on ¾” centers) or square (½” holes on 1” centers).

Pickling removes a thin surface layer from the stainless steel using an acid solution. Pickling will create a dull matte uniformed gray finish to the stainless steel.

P-Traps are plumbing fixtures that trap debris that has drained and prevents a deep clog from forming in the plumbing system. They also prevent sewer gases from entering the facility. Ours are made from stainless steel and are highly recommended in lieu of traditional cast iron or plastic p-traps.
