Anchor Flange is welded to the bodies of multiple styles of drains and will help with the positioning of the drain to lay flush. It is generally covered with concrete to secure the drain in place.
Area Drain is a receptor designed to collect surface or storm water from an open area. They are ideal for low to medium flow areas where trench drains or floor sinks may not be necessary.
Bar Grating is used for drains in high traffic and high flow areas. Bar grates are heavy-duty and are forklift rated. They are manufactured using 304 or 316 stainless steel ¼” x 1-1/2” bars on 1” centers, as a standard. We do offer several other options from ½” to 4” tall. 1/8” bars are used when a lighter duty grate will meet your needs.

Down Spout Covers are used on a wall where an overflow roof drain concealed leader (pipe) discharges water to the ground. Typical downspout covers are type 304, hinged with a perforated cover.
Eco-Guard™ is used to keep odors, sewer gases and insects from coming up the outlet connections of floor drain bodies.

Hinged Grating is a jointed grate that can be used on almost any drain, which can swing open without being completely removed.
Hub Drain is a drain set into the floor that is connected to the drain pipe by means of a hub coupling. The end of the drain flares out like a funnel. This wide section is meant to slip over the end of the drain pipe beneath it. It can be used with/or without a strainer basket. It is used to receive indirect condensate drainage. They are constructed of 304 or 316 stainless steel and are corrosion-resistant.
IAPMO Research and Testing is North America’s premier plumbing and mechanical product certification agency.
I.D. stands for “inside diameter.”
Internal Flanges are designed help reduce splashing caused by large volumes of water at high flow rates.
Internal Splashguard is used mostly on floor sinks. It’s an added lip/ring inside the floor sink, to be used when rapid flows or water hit the drain, preventing splashing.
Leveling Legs are adjustable stainless steel, double nutted, all-thread rods mounted to bottom of trench drains to allow adjustments to level off the drain. They may be used with other drains, as well.
Logo Grates are a new addition to our custom capabilities. We are able to add any custom logo or company name to our slotted, perforated, or perimeter gap grates. Logos are engraved or annealed with a laser or printed in color by our UV printer. Logos will not affect the durability or performance of the grate.
Lugs are stainless steel and welded onto the bottom of grate. There will be a gap between the surface of the grate and the lugs.
Nelson Studs are large nails that are welded to metal and create a bond between the concrete and steel when concrete is poured on a steel structure.
Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) is a North American set of standard sizes for pipes used for high or low pressures and temperatures. Pipe size is specified with two non-dimensional numbers: a nominal pipe size (NPS) for diameter based on inches and a schedule (Sched. or Sch.) for wall thickness.
NSF International develops public health standards and certification programs that help protect the world’s food, water, consumer products and environment. As an independent, accredited organization, NSF develops standards, and tests and certifies products and systems. They provide auditing, education and risk management solutions for public health and the environment. StainlessDrains.com has several NSF certified products that can be found here.
O.D. stands for “outside diameter.”
Outlet is the opening or passage by which the liquid is let out of the drain.
Passivation removes free iron and foreign materials from the surface, leaving the stainless steel clean and more corrosion-resistant. Passivating stainless steel does not change the aesthetics.
Perimeter Gap Grate is a grate that is solid stainless steel and only allows liquid through the perimeter of the grate.
Perforated Grating is applicable for light-to-medium traffic areas. Perforated grates are available with standard round (3/8” holes on ¾” centers) or square (½” holes on 1” centers).
Pickling removes a thin surface layer from the stainless steel using an acid solution. Pickling will create a dull matte uniformed gray finish to the stainless steel.
P-Traps are plumbing fixtures that trap debris that has drained and prevents a deep clog from forming in the plumbing system. They also prevent sewer gases from entering the facility. Ours are made from stainless steel and are highly recommended in lieu of traditional cast iron or plastic p-traps.

Specifications of Stainless Steel
TYPE 304. Stainless Steel type 304 is the most versatile and widely used stainless steel. It is still sometimes referred to by its old name 18/8, which is derived from the nominal composition of 304 being 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
TYPE 316. Stainless Steel type 316 is an austenitic grade with the addition of 2-3% molybdenum, which further improves resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.
Subway Grate is several flat bars in a row, the length of the drain, welded onto 2, 3 or 4 round bars depending on the width of the grate.
Tapered Floor Sink allows a positive flow to the outlet without standing water and debris. Available with sediment baskets, sediment cups and many grate options.

Top Flange is a lip exposed to the top of the finished floor, epoxy, concrete or tiled floor.
Trap Drains are manufactured to capture debris and gases passing through drain systems to prevent clogging and maximize flow. Using built in cleanouts and p-traps are an intricate part of the drain assembly.
Trap Primer is a plumbing device or valve that adds water to traps. The water seals in traps are needed to prevent sewer gases from entering buildings. In floor drains that are infrequently used, the water is exposed to air and begins to evaporate, leading the release of sewer gases into the environment. The trap primer mitigates this problem by injecting water, either directly or indirectly, into the trap to maintain the water seal indefinitely.
Trench Drain (channel drain) is a specific type of floor drain containing a dominant trough- or channel-shaped body. Characterized by its long length and narrow width, the cross-section of the drain is a function of the maximum flow volume anticipated from the surrounding surface. They are available with a round, square or v-bottom. Trench Drains can be shipped in sections up to 50’, with additional shipping costs. They can be field-welded or flanged to any length required.
Trench L-Angle Drain (Liner) compliments high quality stainless steel formed trench drains. They are available with round, square or v-bottom channels with nelson studs. Trench drains can be shipped in sections up to 50’, with additional shipping costs, and can be field-welded or flanged to any length required.
